- Rain Gear if you have it (Welcome to Texas If you dont like the weather, wait 30 minutes)

9. May I bring and wear my personal helmet?
Yes, provided it is undamaged and DOT approved. DOT approval is dependent solely upon the Instructors decision.

10. May I ride my own motorcycle in the BRC?
Yes, as long as it is a two-wheeled, street-legal motorcycle with liability insurance, and you are the registered owner.

11. May I ride my own scooter in the BRC?
Yes, as long as it is a two-wheeled, street-legal scooter with liability insurance. Call us for more information regarding this.

12. Does the BRC waive the driving portion of the DPS test?
The BRC is required to attain a motorcycle license in Texas and will waive both the written and driving test at the DMV office if you are 18 or older. You are only required to take a vision test.

13. What if it rains during the class?
We get wet. Classes are very seldom ever canceled. During lightning storms, the class may be postponed until it passes, however, we do continue class if it's just raining.

14. How old do I need to be to take the BRC?
You must be at least 15 years old on the day class begins. Also, if you are 15-17 years old, you must have at least a learner's permit or above. Minors (under 18) must also have parental/guardian consent forms signed the first part of class.

Generally between 6 and 12. However, Awesome Cycles will run a class with as few as 4 people enrolled.

16. Will I automatically get my M class (motorcycle) license when I pass this course?
No, after successfully completing this course, you must take your certificate to the Department of Public Safety and pass a vision test if you are 18 or older. If you are 15-17, you will be required to take both a written and driving test at DMV. Contact your local DMV office for more information.

17. What size/type of motorcycle will I be training on?
We offer the largest selection of training bikes in Houston, including being the only school with sport bikes and scooters.

18. May I reserve a specific motorcycle for use during my class?
For several reasons, we can not reserve motorcycles (other than scooters) for classes. If you would like a particular motorcycle for training, we suggest you arrive a few minutes early to your class and let your Instructor know of your request. They will do their best to accommodate you. Please bear in mind that it is completely the Instructors' decision as to what bike is best for your training. They make their decisions based on a students previous experience, size, type of bike student is buying, as well as availability.

19. What kind of guarantee is there that I'll get my certificate?
Absolutely none. We will give you all of the tools to learn to ride, including top-of-the-line Instructors, equipment and facilities, but it is up to you to apply and use these tools to the best of your ability. We will do everything we can, you must take care of the rest.
